Starring: Liza Wang, Roger Kwok, Charmaine Sheh, Susanna Kwan, Chris Lai, Sharon Chan
Introduction:
Heartthrob star Ling Fung (Kwon Chun On) claimed during the early years of his singing career that he was a student of Kam Yin (Liza Wang Ming Chun), a veteran songstress and the leader of a performing troupe. But the press later finds out that this is a pack of lies. Yin is arranging to bring her long-lost son from China to Hong Kong for family reunion. She is so desperately in need of money that she jumps at the chance to blackmail Fung.
In an attempt to embarrass Yin, Fung cons her into adopting the inarticulate Chu Yuk-Lan (Charmaine Sheh) as her student. And in doing so, he hopes he will be able to slip away from Lan whom he no longer loves. But to his great surprise, Lan turns out to be very popular and comes to prominence as a rising star shortly after her debut. Yin indicates to the police that Fung is a swindler and a love cheat, which immediately puts Fung's singing career on the skids. Lan becomes more and more successful while Fung is slowly losing his place in the music scene. At the same time, Fung discovers that it was Yin who blabbed to the press about his life...
