About Empty Heart
Grown up as an orphan, Ki-Wu comes to know by the orphanage old woman's will that his mother is imprisoned within the mountain villa of a wealthy man, Man-Kuk. Ki-Wu rapes Man-Ku's daughter so as to take revenge for his mother. But upon hearing this news, his mother commits suicide taking a pessimistic view on her fate. In fact, she lost Ki-Wu during the Korean War and has been under medical treatment for her incurable illness. Later, Man-Ku's brother locates Ki-Wu and tells him that Man-Kuk is his real father. He suggests him to live together, but Ki-Wu refuses it and starts the life of wanderer with a sense of nihility.
