About Susan Brink's Arirang
A 4-year-old girl Yu-Suk is adopted to Sweden due to her father's unexpected death in autumn, 1966. She feels a sense of alienation under the strange circumstances and figures and lives painfully due to her longing for her sisters and brothers. She attempts suicide at the age of 13 due to her adoptive mother's merciless whipping. After all she becomes being independent when she is 18 years old. Yu-Suk tries to look for her biological mother but faces with despair. She gives birth a daughter with a man who she met while she was wandering about. She receives news that her mother is alive in Korea through an evangelist in Sweden. In the end Yu-Suk(Susan) comes to Korea with her daughter to meet her mother and gets through with her long lasted wandering.
