About Great Glory, The
Park Seong-Taek starts to be a shoeshine boy when economic circumstance of the family goes down due to bankruptcy of his father's business. He rapidly succeeds to own a small store through all of hardships. One day he is deceived. For he is feels sorry for himself not to be able to get higher education, he opens an evening school where he begins to give poor children a chance to study. Also he raises pigs and clears wastelands into 40,000 pyong of field and prepares foundation of self-support for 200 students. He overcomes repeatedly jealousy from others and failure, and makes all efforts to make things good without cease. Finally he is awarded as a winner of the second Sang Rok Prize in 1963.
