About Rice Cake
Jeom-Lye works for her husband Deok-Hee, a scoundrel, and her son, Yongi. However, many men in the town tempt her. She rejects the temptation of her landowner, which causes the misunderstanding of the wife of the landowner. Consequently, she is deprived of her tenancy. The farmhand Sam-Su, who loves Jeom-Lye, suggests selling her to Deok-Hee. Deok-Hee sells her to Sam-Su for lots of money, but Jeom-Lye accuses Deok-Hee for the flesh trade. Sam-Su withdraws the complaint after knowing the true mind of Jeom-Lye. Deok-Hee is released but he dies of illness regretting for his faults. When even her son Yongi dies of an attack of indigestion after eating rice cake, she is mad.
