About Hongdukae
As he can not get a grand son from his only son in third generation Man-Ho and daughter-in-law Suk-Hyang, Mr. Lee, a provincial noble, employs a surrogate mother. But still he can't get a baby. As a result of a famous doctor's diagnosis, it is Man-Ho who has a problem. Mr. Lee's wife, Mrs. Jeong, makes an evil plot to employ a surrogate father to Suk-Hyang. She chooses Hong Du-Kae, a fancy goods peddler, as a surrogate father, and finally they got their descendant. Although she tries to kill Hong Du-Kae to keep the secret, it is Man-Ho who is killed. Also Mrs. Jeong meets a gruesome end. However Mr. Lee forgives Hong Du-Kae who apologizes and Suk-Hyang and adopts him as his son.
